This week's gaming landscape is exploding with new releases, from anticipated ports to exciting new titles! Let's dive into the highlights, shall we?
First up, a significant move: Sony loses an exclusive. Square-Enix's critically acclaimed Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is making its way to Xbox Series and, interestingly, the Switch 2. The price point? A reasonable £40. Don't worry, PS5 original owners aren't left out. A new 'Streamlined Progression' option will be added to all versions via an update on launch day, January 22nd.
SEGA is back in the game with SEGA Football Club Champions for mobiles, Steam, and PS5/PS4. This title, built on the Football Manager engine, boasts over 1,500 licensed players from FIFPRO, K League, Manchester City, and more. Impressively, over 2 million players have already pre-registered online.
But that's just the beginning! Arknights: Endfield, a base-building real-time combat RPG, has already amassed a staggering 35 million registrations across PS5, PC, and mobile. And for fighting game fans, 2XKO, a free-to-play 2D fighting game from the creators of League of Legends and Valorant, is coming to consoles.
Then there's Focus' sci-fi Metroidvania MIO: Memories in Orbit, which will be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch. We also have the promising Escape from Ever After, a fairytale adventure in the style of Paper Mario, and the mountain biking sim Mavrix by Matt Jones.
Also on the horizon are EBOLA VILLAGE, a '90s-style horror game, and a belated Xbox release of The Monty Mole Collection. There's also Hextreme Void, a hex-based brick breaker rogue-like, and Look Mum No Computer, a top-down pixel art shooter with music-making elements.
On the Switch front, besides Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on Switch 2, we're also getting retail releases of Operation Night Strikers Assault Edition, a light-gun shoot'em up collection, and The Good Old Days, a nostalgic Metroidvania with a touch of Earthbound.
